What really drives a high-performance management career?

As a manager, getting things done within an organization requires more than being able to manage the performance of your subordinates. It requires the ability to manage upward, to influence the decisions of senior management. It also requires the ability to manage laterally to obtain needed resources and cooperation from peers. And, in today’s team-oriented work organizations, it also requires the ability to manage multiple relationships at the same time within project teams and task groups. Managers who neglect these skills may find themselves frustrated with their inability to get things done. Those issues will be the primary focus of this course.
